Description

Make crispy, golden potato rings at home with this easy recipe. A crunchy, delicious snack perfect for dipping and sharing.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients:

  • 3 large potatoes, peeled and boiled
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ cup water (adjust as needed)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko for extra crunch)
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare the Potato Dough

  • Boil the potatoes until soft, then mash them in a bowl.
  • Add flour, cornstarch, baking powder, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  • Gradually add water while mixing until you get a smooth, non-sticky dough.

2️⃣ Shape the Potato Rings

  • Lightly flour a surface and roll the dough into a ½-inch thick sheet.
  • Use a circular cutter or glass to cut out rings.
  • Use a smaller cutter to cut out the center of each ring.

3️⃣ Coat the Potato Rings

  • Dredge each ring in breadcrumbs, pressing gently to coat evenly.
  • Let them rest for 5-10 minutes to help the coating stick.

4️⃣ Choose Your Cooking Method

Option 1: Frying

  • Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat.
  • Fry the potato rings for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
  • Drain on a paper towel to remove excess oil.

Option 2: Baking

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Place potato rings on a lined baking sheet and spray with cooking oil.
  • Bake for 20 minutes, flipping halfway for even crispiness.

Option 3: Air Frying

  • Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  • Lightly spray the rings with oil.
  • Air fry for 12-15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.

🔥 Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce!

Notes

Best served fresh – The rings stay crispy immediately after cooking.
