Description

A timeless classic! These Nestlé Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookies are perfectly chewy in the center with crispy edges. Packed with gooey semi-sweet chocolate chips, they’re a comforting homemade treat that never goes out of style.

Ingredients

Scale

2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

¾ cup granulated sugar

¾ cup packed brown sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 large eggs

2 cups Nestlé Toll House semi-sweet chocolate chips

(Optional) 1 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)

Instructions

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

In a large bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until creamy.

Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Fold in chocolate chips and nuts, if using.

Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing about 2 inches apart.

Bake for 8–10 minutes for soft cookies or 10–12 minutes for crispier cookies, until golden brown.

Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.

Enjoy warm or store in an airtight container.

Notes

For chewier cookies, slightly underbake and let them finish setting on the baking sheet.

Chill dough for 30 minutes if you want thicker cookies.

Swap in dark chocolate chips, white chocolate, or add a pinch of cinnamon for fun flavor twists!

For gluten-free: use a 1:1 gluten-free flour blend.

For vegan: substitute butter with vegan butter and eggs with flax eggs.
